Berman is one of today’s most innovative interior/furniture designers with his furniture design, interior design and articles in Tradition Home Magazine, Retro Modern, Stone & Tile Design Magazine, Interior Expressions, Los Angeles Magazine, Southern Home, Interiors, Home Design, Architectural Digest and numerous other magazines. His furniture designs are in showroom all across America.
Cheatheam said the discussion about interior design in today’s market, that Michael Berman and Carol Braden, editor of Paper City Magazine with a Designer Studio audience was excellent in sharing interior design, interior colors, ideals, client relations, his furniture and trends of furniture was excellent.
Cheatheam, himself has designed over 3,000 custom homes and numerous commercial buildings around Houston, Katy and across Texas.

Katy, Texas. Award winning building design firm Newell's Designs associated with Polhemus Engineering Co. (www.newellsdesigns.com) of Katy, Texas was selected in August to design the new facilities for KatyChristianMinistries. The non-profit organization - KCM has over 25 churches that contribute support to their annual budget.
Newell's Designs and Polhemus Engineering Co. completed preliminary building design plans in August for the 10,000 s.f. office building proposed to be built at Katy Fort Bend Roadand Fifth Street, Katy, Texas. The preliminary plans are out for preliminary building costs to contractors by KCM.
Newell's Designs is an award winning design firm winning numerous national and state design awards. The building will have a metal structure with metal, stone, and hard plank exterior with brick gable entrances, with a country look exterior. The building will provide community services for administration, domestic abuse center, food pantry, social services, storage, tri county interfaith ministry, and public meeting rooms. This is just one building in the future long planning goals of KCM to meet the needs of the Katy Community and surrounding areas by bringing community services of KCM into one location.

Newell Cheatheam, AIBD, CPBD, president of Katy-based Newell's Designs, was recently elected to serve on the Texas Institute of Building Design board of directors. He will also serve as publicity chairman for the organization. Cheatheam has more than 35 years of experience in commercial and residential building design. He majored in architecture and interior design at Midwestern State University and the University of Houston, and is a certified professional building designer and a Texas licensed registered interior designer.
